Philoptochos

I feel blessed to have support from our community to enable us to meet our philanthropic obligations.

The goals of the Philoptochos

To preserve the sacredness of the Orthodox family through family concern, service, unity of action

To promote the philanthropic purposes of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Toronto (Canada)

To aid anyone who may need the help of the Church

To support participation in the activities of the Greek Orthodox community with the cooperation of the Parish Priest and the Parish Council.

Events

Our church organizes and actively supports many events that help keep our community integrated. Events have included the annual Greek Summer Fest, Dinners, Greek Dancing, and Music.

GOYA
The Greek Orthodox Youth Association accepts teenagers aged 13 to 17.

It is a place where young people come to learn and grow as Orthodox Christians in today's society, as well a place where our youths can socialize and embrace the Greek culture. Many GOYA's experience making new friends, obeserving the faith and learning our culture in a welcoming environment.

It is a great way for our youth and parents to be involved in the Greek Orthodox Community of East Vancouver. Sample events and activities include:

• Bible studies with the Parish Priest
• Dinner and Dance
• Sports (including Laser Tage/Tubing)
• Annual Carwash
• Annual Summer Camp
